Bamiyan Cultural Centre

The competition was to design a cultural centre in Bamiyan, Afghanistan where the contoured site was overlooked by the Bamiyan Buddha. The area requirements included workspaces, exhibition hall, administration, library, classrooms, auditorium, tea house etc.

Looking at the cultural centre as a place where people would assemble, share thoughts, represent and learn culture. We proposed ‘BAZAAR’ which connects the building with the outside landscaped spaces.
